Woodlawn Bakes is a home bakery based in the heart of Co. Galway, run by me, Maria Hynes. I have always had a huge passion for food, and baking has always been my happy place. I am self taught and for years I baked my treats and cakes for family and friends. In 2019 I took the exciting step off the Corporate ladder back into college, studying Culinary Skills in GMIT. In 2020 Woodlawn Bakes was born!

Food represents so much for me; happiness, love, sadness, celebration, being together, being apart. Therefore, I am a big believer in saying what you need to say through food, especially if you can’t be there to say it in person.

Growing up on the doorstep of Woodlawn Woods, I am hugely inspired by the beautiful woodland that surrounds my home and I very much wanted this reflected in my brand. I am passionate about supporting Irish, locally sourced, free range and organic ingredients, baking and cooking with them where possible.

I pour my passion as well as a lot of love into everything I create. Every item is made by hand and many hours of work goes into your custom orders - they truly allow me to express my artistic and creative side. I am very lucky to be able to play a part in my customers memories and special days, this to me means everything.
